This series walks through a pattern I have seen repeat across every organization where AI governance has landed on a privacy professional’s desk, which is most of them, and almost always without anyone deciding it should.
It starts with the assignment nobody else would take and ends with a one-page tool you can use today, at your desk, with no budget and nobody’s permission. In between, I tell you what twelve years inside the consumer data economy taught me about work that was never new, and the one piece that genuinely is.
There is something specific that has to happen before AI governance becomes manageable, and it is not a credential or a platform.
Most organizations skip it entirely. Most vendors have no incentive to tell you it is missing. And most privacy professionals spend months absorbing work that was never theirs, without ever being able to name why the assignment keeps growing.
